Communicate

The Lord God Communicates with People All the Time.

The Lord God, Who exists is all powerful and all knowing, sees you and hears you (Psalm 139) and everyone and thing. The Lord God Almighty calls to you and me to speak with Him personally!

God has made you to communicate WITH Him.

The Bible is God's Word for you and me - This is how we tangibly know God's Ways, His thoughts, feelings, and His heart for you and me, personally! God tell us that He communicates with us through -

 Communication - Our Thoughts

God speaks with us directly to our thoughts. God dialogued with an angry, hell-bent man named Cain. Read Genesis 4:2-7 .

The Lord God of the universe cares enough to come down, right along side of Cain, even though He knows Cain has purposefully not given God his best. The Lord God approached Cain out of His own compassion for Cain's pain and suffering!

God did four things when He came to Cain -

1.      He validated the fact that He saw and understood Cain was sad, jealous and angry.  For God is always watching you and me, and knows us well.

2.      God told Cain the solution to the problem. "Do what you know is right".  God's attitude was that Cain was capable of doing this.

3.      God warned Cain of where his life was headed-  Sin is at your door and wants to take hold of you and capture you.

4.      And finally, God tells Cain, you must rule over sin!

God is say to you and me these four things also.  1) God understands what you are feeling and why you feel this way.        2) God tells you to do what is Biblically right. God has confidence in you to do what He says when you are  Empowered by Him.          3) God warns you what bad will happen if you Do Not not take God's commands seriously.         4) God tells you to rule over your own fleshly desires, the pressures of the world, and the devil. Ephesians 4:17-32

Is there a bad attitude or habit that you have which rules over you?

Do you have an anger that flares up easily?  Do you burn others with your anger, jealousy, cursing or violence?  Cain was like that.  If you are, then God is speaking to you right now from His Own Word. - "Why are you angry? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?… sin is crouching at your door and desires to have you, but you must master it." Genesis 4:2-7.

Well, what is the right thing to do?  How can you break pain in your heart that causes the habit?  Well, if you are like the rest of us, it is pretty impossible to remove your own heart pain, or break attitudes and habits on your own strength.

And that is exactly why God came along side of Cain - so that Cain would communicate back with the Lord God and receive the help he needed which God offered.  But Cain didn’t do this, so his life continually took turns for the worse.  You can read more about it in Genesis 4.

God did not want a bad life for Cain, and God does not want that for you or me.  Even though God's greatest desire is for you and me to come to Him in a deep love relationship, God is a gentleman and He never forces Himself on us.  God respects our free will and choice.

God came along side of Cain to invite him to a better way to live and to coach him along, too.  God was moved by compassion and love to help Cain not suffer.  It was up to Cain to take up God's invitation.

God invites you and me to Himself for the purpose of setting us free from being mastered by sin.  God's Son Jesus Christ says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. " Mt 11:28

Jesus states, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Jn 14:6             So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Jn 8:36

Have you been Rebelling against God ? God still wants you to talk with Him.  How can I talk with God?

God communicates to you and wants your response back. Will you talk with Him today?  He's listening to you right now.

Will you pray? -        Lord God almighty, you alone are holy and pure.  Please forgive me of my anger, jealously, rage and bad habits.  I put my trust in your Son Jesus Christ and His death on the cross to clean me of my sins.  Please fill me with your Holy Spirit and teach me Your ways that I would live for Your purpose and glory forever and always.  In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.

Communication - Personal Dreams and Visions

God communicates to you and me personally through dreams and visions.  We see this clearly in the life of Joseph, King Nebuchadnezzar (Genesis 37-41) and in the book of Joel.

Joseph was a man who was to accomplish many great things for God and His people.  God knew Joseph would need tremendous encouragement to accomplish these tasks, so the Lord God Almighty sent him personally two dreams when he was 17 years old.  Here is one of them from Genesis chapter 37.

Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. He said to them, "Listen to this dream I had:  We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it."

His brothers said to him, "Do you intend to reign over us? Will you actually rule us?"  Then he had another dream,  When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, "What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?"  His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.

After much hardship and more than 20 years, Joseph and his family saw God's visions fulfilled.  But more importantly was the effect of God's dream on Joseph's heart.  Because Joseph understood Who gave him the dream, he was steadfast in his relationship of affection and trust with the  Living God.

At one point the rich wife of Joseph's master's tried to seduce him.  Joseph rightly exclaimed, "How could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"  Gen 39:9  Joseph's dependence on the Lord God and His Word made Joseph able to withstand the temptation.  What a wonderful response Joseph had to God's communication!  And that is what God wants from you and me, too!  For us to trust His Word and obey Him out of love and gratitude.

The second example of God's communicating through a dream is to King Nebuchadnezzar II. He was the greatest of the rulers of the Neo-Babylonian Empire and reigned between 626-539 BC.  In fact it was he who had the Hanging Gardens of Babylon built, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world!

God's gave this king a specific message for his own life through a dream and then followed through with it physically.  Only in this way was the king finally enabled to have a right relationship with the living God.  A relationship based on Who God is, and not on what we want or think should be.  God always wants us to know and love Him enough to state what this great king said - "37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything He does is right and all His ways are just. And those who walk in pride He is able to humble." You can read more about this in the book of Daniel chapter 4.

God tells us in Joel 2:28-29  "afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.        We are in those days…

God's Son Jesus says, "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Lk 11:9,10

Be aware that we are not to look for signs and wonders, but we are to seek God's Will and a relationship with Him through His Word and Holy Spirit.  Only in this way can we receive His instruction for the purpose of obeying Him out of His love for us, for the sheer gratitude of all He is and what He does for us and for His glory alone.

How has God communicated with you lately?  What has the Living God spoken to your heart today?  How will you respond to Him?  God is eagerly waiting to hear from you!

Will you pray? -        Most High God, You alone are perfect and right.  I am a sinner and have done many wrong things in my life.  I seek your Face right now.  Please draw me near to you and reveal to me Who You are so that I may love you more.  Please forgive me for all that I have done wrong, and I place my sins on Jesus Christ's cross.  Thank you for forgiving me!  Please fill me with your Holy Spirit that I may learn from you and live for you forever.  In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
